Almost-Not Quite There.

Good news people--I'm starting to feel better but nowhere near my usual blissful state. I just poured myself a nice highball of 7-Up, climbed into the chaise, and tucked myself underneath a delicate but warm cashmere throw. Ah-this feels delightful. And guess what? The dog has to pee. Of course he does. No ones here, it's rainy outside and he's looking at me with that look, ya know, the one that says * it's up to you, I can go right here, but we both know how you feel about that* kind of look. FINE! Give me a minute......................................... I'm back! But now the bottoms of my jammies are wet and I'm nowhere near as comfy as before. What if this effects my writing later? What if I contracted the horse flu and I end up whiney forever as a lasting side effect? This is worse than I thought. I should rest more........with chocolate. Crap, chocolate doesn't even sound good anymore. This may be the end people.  On another note, I just started reading FALLEN by Lauren Kate. My daughter won't turn over BLUE MOON, the second book in the Immortals series, so I've turned to something else while I wait. Teenagers! What she doesn't know is that FALLEN takes place at a reform school. She might want me to read BLUE MOON instead. Oh well, it's her bus ticket. Hey, looks like my ability to scheme up an evil plan on a whim is still intact. Whew! That's a load off;) Am I the only one who reads multiple series at a time? My daughter thinks this makes me weird and I CANNOT believe that's the only thing about me that would make her come to that conclusion.

  1. HAHAHAHA. I really like you. Can we be friends? :)

This post is ME (but I could not have written it as well as you did!).

    1. My big dog Sabbath looked at me yesterday... but I was all cozy in my lazyboy chair... I knew the look, but I figured he could wait a few minutes. I was cozy. He stared at me. And then lifted his leg! ACK!! I was up in lightning speed yelling, "NO!" ... my own fault, I suppose. At least we have hard wood floors. :)

    2. Icky Sicky. I just got over it. BUT it was a bad one and I tried Liquid Silver for the first time - - it worked wonders!!!

    3. Teenage daughter wanting to read the book I want to read. YUP. We often argue about who should get to read the book first. Sometimes I pull out the "mom" card and take control. Sometimes I decide it's not a battle worth fighting.

    4. I'm reading a TON of different series... I love books. How can I NOT do this?

WOW. This is the longest comment I've ever left on someone else's blog. Kinda like leaving a long phone message and machine times-out on you... BEEEEEEPPP.

    I'll call back later.

  2. You're always good for a laugh.
I have a dog and a puppy. That look from my dog is killer. Especially when we just get in from outside. But at least its better than the puppy.. no warnings whatsoever with him...
That chocolate remark though... it's almost blasphemous. ;)
    Have a great (relaxing) week!

  3. Margo- of course we can be friends. The more we have in this business of life and writing, the better. I'll have to try the liquid silver and I really think you should be getting some kick backs. Make sure you call back later.

Caroline- love making you laugh. My dog is actually a pup too. He just doesn't look like one. He's a 6 month old Great Dane so he's huge but still a baby. And don't worry, the chocolate taste buds will resurface. I know they will. They must!

Funny! Been there done that with the daughters. But I couldn't figure out what to do with my eight year old son who won't behave in school, thanks for the idea.

  5. My son picks out books at the book store, then I read them before him. He's in love with the Wimpy Kids books. I zipped through the Percy Jackson series, after starting the Ranger's Apprentice series (need to get the rest of these :)) So, I'd say it's normal to read multiple series at a time!

    Hope you feel better soon!
